MECHANISM OF ACTION

Ferrous Ascorbate : Ferrous Ascorbate combines iron with ascorbic acid (vitamin C) to improve its absorption and effectiveness. Drug-Drug Interaction : Afiros XT Tablet (Ferrous Ascorbate 100 mg + Folic Acid 1.5 mcg + Zinc 22.5 mg) may interact with anticonvulsants (phenobarbital, primidone, phenytoin, sodium valproate, carbamazepine), antibiotics (chloramphenicol, cotrimoxazole, trimethoprim), antimanic drugs (lithium), diuretics (triamterene), anti-inflammatory drugs (sulfasalazine), painkillers (aspirin), and anticancer drugs (methotrexate).

Drug-Food Interaction : Avoid taking dairy products, coffee, or tea at the same time as Afiros XT Tablet, as they may reduce the absorption of iron.

Drug-Disease Interaction : Inform your doctor before taking Afiros XT Tablet if you have stomach ulcers, vitamin B12 deficiency, blood disorders, repeated blood transfusions, ulcerative colitis, pernicious anaemia, or folate-dependent tumours.
