DESCRIPTION

Cromont Suspension (Levocetirizine 2.5 mg + Montelukast 4 mg) is a combination medicine used in children to treat allergic conditions. It helps relieve symptoms such as runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, itching, and hives (itchy skin rashes). This medicine is widely used to provide relief from nasal congestion and other allergy-related symptoms throughout the year.

INDICATION

• Allergic Rhinitis: Allergic rhinitis is a common condition caused by inflammation of the nasal passages due to allergens such as dust, pollen, or pet dander. It is commonly known as hay fever. Symptoms include a runny or blocked nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, and sometimes swelling around the eyes. Cromont Suspension (Levocetirizine 2.5 mg + Montelukast 4 mg) helps relieve these symptoms in children.

• Asthma: Asthma is a condition in which the airways become narrow and inflamed, making breathing difficult. Cromont Suspension (Levocetirizine 2.5 mg + Montelukast 4 mg) helps reduce airway inflammation and improves breathing. It helps prevent symptoms such as chest tightness, wheezing, shortness of breath, and coughing.

• Allergic Skin Conditions: Allergic skin conditions may cause symptoms such as hives (itchy rash), redness, swelling, and itching. These occur due to an allergic reaction of the immune system to certain allergens. MECHANISM OF ACTION

Levocetirizine: Levocetirizine works by blocking H1 histamine receptors in the body. Histamine is a chemical released during allergic reactions that causes symptoms such as itching, swelling, sneezing, and watery eyes. By blocking histamine, levocetirizine helps reduce these allergy symptoms.
 

Montelukast: Montelukast works by blocking leukotrienes, which are inflammatory chemicals released during allergic reactions. Leukotrienes cause airway inflammation, mucus production, and nasal congestion. By blocking these chemicals, montelukast helps reduce allergy and asthma symptoms.
 

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Drug–Drug Interaction: Cromont Suspension (Levocetirizine 2.5 mg + Montelukast 4 mg) may interact with certain medicines such as other anti-allergic drugs, pain relievers (ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac), antifungal medicines (fluconazole, miconazole, voriconazole), and heart medications such as amiodarone.

 

Drug–Food Interaction: Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are taking any herbal supplements, multivitamins, or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines.

Drug–Disease Interaction: Patients with liver disease, kidney disease, or epilepsy should use Cromont Suspension with caution. Always consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you have any underlying medical condition.
