DESCRIPTION

Cufgyl Syrup contains (Ambroxol Hcl 15 mg + Guaiphenesin 50 mg + Terbutaline Sulphate 1.25 mg + Menthol 2.5 mg). Cufgyl Syrup (Ambroxol Hcl 15 mg + Guaiphenesin 50 mg + Terbutaline Sulphate 1.25 mg + Menthol 2.5 mg) is mainly used to treat wet (productive) cough with chest congestion and breathing difficulty caused by narrowing of the airways. This syrup works in different ways. By loosening and removing mucus, the syrup clears chest congestion, reduces wheezing, and makes breathing easier. It helps improve airflow and provides relief in conditions like bronchitis, asthma with cough, and other chest infections.

INDICATION

Productive (Wet) Cough:- Cufgyl  Syrup ( Ambroxal Hcl 15 Mg + Guaiphenesin 50 Mg + Terbutaline Sulphate 1.5 Mg + Menthol 2.5 Mg ) This combination is primarily indicated for the treatment of productive cough, where thick mucus or phlegm is present in the respiratory tract. Ambroxol helps thin and break down mucus, while guaiphenesin increases mucus clearance, making it easier for the patient to cough out phlegm.

Bronchitis:- Cufgyl  Syrup ( Ambroxal Hcl 15 Mg + Guaiphenesin 50 Mg + Terbutaline Sulphate 1.5 Mg + Menthol 2.5 Mg ) It is commonly prescribed in Bronchitis, where inflammation of the airways causes coughing, mucus production, and breathing difficulty. Terbutaline helps relax bronchial muscles, improving airflow and reducing breathing discomfort.

Bronchial Asthma with Mucus:- Cufgyl  Syrup ( Ambroxal Hcl 15 Mg + Guaiphenesin 50 Mg + Terbutaline Sulphate 1.5 Mg + Menthol 2.5 Mg ) In patients suffering from Bronchial Asthma accompanied by mucus buildup, this combination helps relieve airway constriction and promotes mucus clearance. Terbutaline acts as a bronchodilator to open the airways and improve breathing.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD):- Cufgyl Syrup ( Ambroxal Hcl 15 Mg + Guaiphenesin 50 Mg + Terbutaline Sulphate 1.5 Mg + Menthol 2.5 Mg ) The medication may be used as supportive therapy in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, where patients experience chronic cough, excessive mucus, and airflow obstruction. It helps reduce mucus viscosity and improve airway dilation.

Respiratory Tract Infections:- Cufgyl  Syrup ( Ambroxal Hcl 15 Mg + Guaiphenesin 50 Mg + Terbutaline Sulphate 1.5 Mg + Menthol 2.5 Mg ) It can be indicated in respiratory infections such as Upper Respiratory Tract Infection where coughing with mucus occurs. The combination helps loosen phlegm, soothe the throat with menthol, and facilitate easier breathing.

Chest Congestion:- Cufgyl  Syrup ( Ambroxal Hcl 15 Mg + Guaiphenesin 50 Mg + Terbutaline Sulphate 1.5 Mg + Menthol 2.5 Mg ) This combination is useful in relieving chest congestion caused by mucus accumulation in the lungs or bronchi. Ambroxol and guaiphenesin promote expectoration, while menthol provides a cooling sensation that helps soothe irritated airways.

Allergic Cough with Bronchospasm:- Cufgyl  Syrup ( Ambroxal Hcl 15 Mg + Guaiphenesin 50 Mg + Terbutaline Sulphate 1.5 Mg + Menthol 2.5 Mg ) It may also be used in cases of allergic cough associated with bronchospasm. Terbutaline relieves airway tightening, while the other components help clear mucus and reduce throat irritation.

Post-infectious Cough with Phlegm:- Cufgyl  Syrup ( Ambroxal Hcl 15 Mg + Guaiphenesin 50 Mg + Terbutaline Sulphate 1.5 Mg + Menthol 2.5 Mg ) After respiratory infections, some patients continue to experience cough with lingering mucus. This combination helps clear remaining secretions from the airways and improves breathing comfort during recovery.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

• Ambroxol: It acts as a mucolytic by breaking down thick mucus in the respiratory tract and enhancing mucociliary clearance.
   
• Guaifenesin: It works as an expectorant that increases the volume and reduces the viscosity of bronchial secretions, making it easier to expel phlegm through coughing. 
   
• Terbutaline sulphate: It stimulates β₂-adrenergic receptors in bronchial smooth muscles, leading to bronchodilation and improved airflow in the lungs.
   
• Menthol: It provides a cooling and soothing effect on the throat and respiratory passages, which helps reduce irritation and the urge to cough. 

DRUG INTERACTIONS
 

Drug interactions: Cufgyl Syrup (Ambroxol Hcl 15 mg + Guaiphenesin 50 mg + Terbutaline Sulphate 1.25 mg + Menthol 2.5 mg) may interact with blood pressure medications (propranolol), antiemetics (ondansetron, promethazine), corticosteroids (budesonide), respiratory medications (aminophylline, formoterol), heart medications (digoxin), Parkinson's disease medications (safinamide), blood pressure medications (propranolol), antidepressants, and corticosteroids (budesonide).

Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid drinking too much alcohol since it can exacerbate symptoms like tremors and lightheadedness.

Drug-disease interactions: Patients with ischemic heart disease, liver, kidney disease, thyroid disease, bronchospasm, peptic ulcer, seizures, hypertension, diabetes, airway inflammation, lung disease, and cautious breathing should use Cufgyl Syrup (Ambroxol Hcl 15 mg + Guaiphenesin 50 mg + Terbutaline Sulphate 1.25 mg + Menthol 2.5 mg).

PRECAUTION
