DESCRIPTION

Lumix Cream (Luliconazole 1%) is a topical antifungal medication used to treat superficial fungal infections of the skin. It works by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis in fungal cell membranes, leading to the destruction of fungal cells. It helps relieve itching, redness, scaling, and irritation associated with infections such as athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch, and tinea versicolor.

INDICATION

Tinea Pedis (Athlete's Foot) : Lumix Cream (Luliconazole 1%) is used to treat fungal infections of the feet, especially between the toes and on the soles. It helps relieve itching, burning, peeling, and cracked skin caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton mentagrophytes.

Tinea Cruris (Jock Itch) : Lumix Cream (Luliconazole 1%) is effective in managing fungal infections of the groin area. It reduces redness, itching, and ring-shaped rashes caused by dermatophytes like Trichophyton and Epidermophyton species.

Tinea Corporis (Ringworm) : Lumix Cream (Luliconazole 1%) is used to treat ringworm infections that appear as red, itchy, circular patches on the body and limbs. The antifungal action helps eliminate dermatophytes such as Trichophyton and Microsporum species.

Tinea Versicolor : Lumix Cream (Luliconazole 1%) is used to treat tinea versicolor caused by Malassezia species. It helps reduce discolored patches on the skin and restores normal skin appearance.

Other Dermatophyte Infections : Lumix Cream (Luliconazole 1%) may also be used to treat other superficial fungal infections caused by dermatophytes affecting different areas of the skin.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Luliconazole 1% : Lumix Cream (Luliconazole 1%) works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. It blocks the enzyme 14α-demethylase, a cytochrome P450 enzyme responsible for converting lanosterol into ergosterol. This disruption weakens the fungal cell membrane, causing leakage of cellular components and ultimately leading to fungal cell death.
