DESCRIPTION

M-Coccus Ointment (Mupirocin 2.0% w/w) is a topical antibacterial medicine used for the treatment of superficial skin infections caused by susceptible bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby preventing the growth and multiplication of bacteria. M-Coccus Ointment (Mupirocin 2.0% w/w) is commonly used for conditions like impetigo, minor skin infections, and infected cuts or abrasions. Its topical formulation allows targeted action at the site of infection with minimal systemic absorption.

INDICATION

• Topical Skin Infections : M-Coccus Ointment (Mupirocin 2.0% w/w) is used to treat localized bacterial skin infections caused by susceptible organisms such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes.

• Impetigo : M-Coccus Ointment (Mupirocin 2.0% w/w) is effective in the treatment of impetigo, a contagious bacterial skin infection commonly seen in children.

• Secondary Skin Infections : M-Coccus Ointment (Mupirocin 2.0% w/w) may be used to treat secondary bacterial infections that develop in damaged or diseased skin.

• Nasal Decolonization : M-Coccus Ointment (Mupirocin 2.0% w/w) may be used in certain cases for the eradication of MRSA (Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus) from the nasal passages.

MECHANISM OF ACTION
