DESCRIPTION

Rosutec-20 Tablet (Rosuvastatin 20 mg) is used to treat high cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood. Rosutec-20 Tablet (Rosuvastatin 20 mg) works by reducing the production of unhealthy fats in the liver, especially LDL (bad cholesterol). By lowering cholesterol and improving the lipid profile, it helps reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, which can occur due to reduced blood and oxygen supply to the brain.
 

INDICATION

• Hyperlipidaemia  : Hyperlipidaemia is a condition in which there is too much bad cholesterol and triglycerides (types of fats) in the blood. Rosutec-20 Tablet (Rosuvastatin 20 mg) is used to lower these elevated lipid levels and improve overall cholesterol balance.

• Prevention of heart Attack : Excess fats in the blood can build up in the blood vessels, leading to narrowing and blockage. This increases the risk of heart problems. Rosutec-20 Tablet (Rosuvastatin 20 mg) helps reduce cholesterol levels, thereby lowering the risk of heart attack.

• Prevention of stroke : Stroke occurs when there is reduced or blocked blood flow to the brain. High cholesterol can cause narrowing of the blood vessels supplying the brain. Rosutec-20 Tablet (Rosuvastatin 20 mg) helps decrease cholesterol levels and reduces the risk of stroke.
 

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Rosutec-20 Tablet (Rosuvastatin 20 mg), which works by inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, responsible for cholesterol synthesis in the liver. By blocking this enzyme, it reduces cholesterol production and increases LDL receptors on liver cells, enhancing the removal of LDL (bad cholesterol) from the bloodstream. As a result, it lowers total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglyceride levels, while mildly increasing HDL (good cholesterol). This action helps manage dyslipidemia and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Drug-Drug Interactions : Rosutec-20 Tablet (Rosuvastatin 20 mg) may interact with cyclosporine, blood thinners like warfarin and clopidogrel, fibrates (gemfibrozil, fenofibrate), and ezetimibe. It can also interact with antacids, certain antibiotics (erythromycin, fusidic acid), oral contraceptives, regorafenib, and some antiviral/anti-HIV medicines. Rosutec-20 Tablet (Rosuvastatin 20 mg) may increase the risk of muscle or liver-related side effects.
 

Drug-Food Interactions : Alcohol should be avoided while taking Rosutec-20 Tablet (Rosuvastatin 20 mg), as it may increase the risk of liver problems.

Drug-Disease Interactions : Use with caution in patients with neuromuscular disorders (such as myositis), hypothyroidism, or kidney impairment, as the risk of muscle-related side effects may increase.

PRECAUTION
 

While taking Rosutec-20 Tablet (Rosuvastatin 20 mg), monitor liver function regularly due to the risk of elevated liver enzymes. Report any muscle pain or weakness, as it may indicate myopathy. Assess kidney function if impairment is present. Avoid grapefruit juice and alcohol, and inform your doctor about all other medicines. Blood sugar levels should also be monitored, as there may be a slight increase in glucose levels.
