DESCRIPTION

Zivox-375 Tablet (Amoxycillin 250 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg) is a combination antibiotic containing Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid. It is used to treat various bacterial infections affecting the lungs, airways, middle ear, sinuses, skin, and urinary tract.

Amoxycillin works by inhibiting the formation of the bacterial cell wall, thereby stopping bacterial growth. Clavulanic Acid enhances the effectiveness of Amoxycillin by inhibiting beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria.
 

INDICATION

 

• Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) : Zivox-375 Tablet (Amoxycillin 250 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg) is used to treat urinary tract infections caused by bacteria. Zivox-375 Tablet (Amoxycillin 250 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg) works by stopping the growth of bacteria and preventing them from becoming resistant. Zivox-375 Tablet (Amoxycillin 250 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg) combination helps in faster recovery and effectively reduces symptoms like pain, burning sensation, and frequent urination.

• Sinusitis : Zivox-375 Tablet (Amoxycillin 250 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg) is used for bacterial sinus infections and inflammation of the sinus lining. Zivox-375 Tablet (Amoxycillin 250 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg) helps reduce nasal congestion, facial pain, and pressure associated with sinusitis. MECHANISM OF ACTION

• Amoxycillin (250 mg) : Amoxycillin is a beta-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), leading to bacterial cell death.

• Clavulanic Acid (125 mg) : Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that prevents bacterial enzymes from destroying Amoxycillin, thereby extending its antibacterial spectrum.

• Mucocutaneous candidiasis
• Diarrhea
• Nausea
• Vomiting 

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Drug–Drug Interactions:  Zivox-375 Tablet (Amoxycillin 250 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg) may interact with anti-gout medicines (allopurinol, probenecid), anticoagulants (warfarin), methotrexate, and mycophenolate mofetil. Caution is advised to avoid unwanted effects.

Drug–Food Interaction: Zivox-375 Tablet (Amoxycillin 250 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg)No significant food interaction is known. It is better taken with food to reduce stomach upset.

Drug–Disease Interaction: Zivox-375 Tablet (Amoxycillin 250 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg) Use cautiously in patients with colitis, mononucleosis, liver disease, kidney impairment, or those on haemodialysis. Dose adjustment may be required.


 

PRECAUTIONS

While using Zivox-375 Tablet (Amoxycillin 250 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg), monitor for allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, or breathing difficulty. Use cautiously in patients with liver disease and monitor liver function tests. Dose adjustment may be required in kidney impairment. Gastrointestinal side effects like nausea and diarrhea may occur but are usually mild. Avoid use in patients with mononucleosis due to risk of rash. Inform your doctor about all medications, especially blood thinners. Consult your healthcare provider before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
