DESCRIPTION

Arlac Tablet (aceclofenac sodium 100 mg + paracetamol 325 mg) is a combination medicine used for pain and inflammation. Arlac Tablet (aceclofenac sodium 100 mg + paracetamol 325 mg)  contains aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and paracetamol, which helps reduce pain and fever. INDICATIONS

• Rheumatoid Arthritis:Rheumatoid arthritis is a condition in which the body’s immune system affects the joints and causes swelling, stiffness, and pain. Arlac Tablet (aceclofenac sodium 100 mg + paracetamol 325 mg) is associated with reducing joint pain and inflammation related to this condition.

• Osteoarthritis:Osteoarthritis occurs when the protective cartilage between the bones gradually wears down. It may cause joint pain, stiffness, and reduced movement. Arlac Tablet (aceclofenac sodium 100 mg + paracetamol 325 mg) helps manage pain and discomfort associated with osteoarthritis.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Aceclofenac Sodium:Aceclofenac works by blocking cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes that are responsible for producing prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are chemicals that contribute to pain, swelling, and inflammation. By reducing their production, aceclofenac helps decrease pain and inflammation.

Paracetamol:Paracetamol acts mainly in the central nervous system by reducing the production of prostaglandins in the brain. This action helps relieve pain and reduce fever.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Drug-Drug Interaction:Medicines such as cholesterol-lowering drugs (cholestyramine), activated charcoal, anti-vomiting medicines (domperidone, metoclopramide), alcohol, anti-HIV medicine (zidovudine), blood thinners (warfarin), blood pressure medicines, and anti-cancer or anti-arthritis medicines (methotrexate) may interact with Arlac Tablet (aceclofenac sodium 100 mg + paracetamol 325 mg).

Drug-Food Interaction:No significant food interaction has been reported.

Drug-Disease Interaction:People with liver disease, bleeding disorders, or chronic alcohol use should use Arlac Tablet (aceclofenac sodium 100 mg + paracetamol 325 mg) with caution due to possible effects on liver function.
