DESCRIPTION

Etocia-120 Tablet contains (Etoricoxib 120 mg ) which is a type of medicine called a selective COX-2 inhibitor. It is used to help manage pain and swelling in conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and for short-term relief of sudden pain. This medicine works by targeting the COX-2 enzyme, which helps reduce the amount of substances in the body that cause pain and inflammation. Etocia-120 Tablet  (Etoricoxib 120 mg ) is effective in treating these conditions and is often preferred because it is less likely to cause stomach problems compared to other pain medicines that affect both COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes. It is usually used for managing pain and inflammation over a longer period of time.

INDICATION
 

Osteoarthritis : Osteoarthritis is a condition that affects the joints, where the protective cartilage between the bones wears away over time. It commonly occurs in the joints of the hands, knees, hips, and spine. Etocia-120 Tablet  (Etoricoxib 120 mg ) which contains 120 mg of Etoricoxib, is used to treat osteoarthritis.

Rheumatoid Arthritis : Rheumatoid joint pain, or RA, is a condition where your body's immune system attacks the small joints, leading to swelling and pain. Etocia-120 Tablet (Etoricoxib 120 mg ) which contains Etoricoxib 120 mg, is used to help reduce swelling and relieve joint pain caused by rheumatoid arthritis

Ankylosing Spondylitis : Ankylosing Spondylitis is a condition that affects the small bones in your spine, making them stick together. The symptoms include pain and stiffness in your lower back and hips. Etocia-120 Tablet (Etoricoxib 120 mg) is used to treat this condition.

Acute Gout : Acute gout is a very painful condition that often affects the joints in your big toe. It happens when there is too much uric acid, which is a waste product in the blood, in your joints. Etocia-120 Tablet (Etoricoxib 120 mg) is used to treat this condition.

Dental Pain : Etocia-120 Tablet (Etoricoxib 120 mg) which contains Etoricoxib 120 mg, is used for a short period to relieve tooth pain that occurs after a dental procedure or surgery

 

MECHANISM OF ACTION
 

Etocia-120 Tablet (Etoricoxib 120 mg) works by targeting a specific enzyme called COX-2. This enzyme is involved in making substances in the body called prostaglandins, which cause things like pain, swelling, and fever. By blocking COX-2, Etoricoxib helps reduce these substances without affecting another enzyme called COX-1 much. COX-1 helps protect the stomach and is important for blood clotting. Because it targets only COX-2, this medicine can help with pain and swelling but is less likely to cause stomach problems compared to other pain medicines that affect both COX-1 and COX-2.
 

DRUG INTERACTIONS
 

Drug-Drug Interaction: Etocia-120 Tablet (Etoricoxib 120 mg) may interact with several other medicines. These include anticoagulants like warfarin and headache medicines, antibiotics like rifampicin, medicines that weaken the immune system like methotrexate, blood pressure medicines such as enalapril, ramipril, losartan, valsartan, and minoxidil, diuretics, heart rhythm medicines like digoxin, asthma medicines like salbutamol, and birth control pills.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Etocia-120 Tablet (Etoricoxib 120 mg) should be used carefully in patients who have stomach ulcers, are in serious kidney trouble, have liver problems, suffer from colitis (inflammation of the large digestive tract), have uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart failure, have had a stroke, or have other heart-related issues.

PRECAUTION

When taking Etocia-120 Tablet (Etoricoxib 120 mg), Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular risk such as heart attack or stroke, like heart attack or stroke, especially if you take it for a long time. Keep an eye out for stomach problems, as it can still cause issues like ulcers or bleeding.
