DESCRIPTION
Mifco Tablet contains Mefenamic Acid 250 mg and Dicyclomine HCl 10 mg. Mifco Tablet (Mefenamic Acid 250 mg + Dicyclomine HCl 10 mg) works by stopping the release of certain chemicals called prostaglandins that cause pain and inflammation. It is also used to help with pain caused by stomach and intestinal cramps. INDICATION
Spasmodic dysmenorrhoea : Spasmodic dysmenorrhoea is painful menstrual cramping in the lower abdomen that occurs during menstruation., is a painful, throbbing discomfort that happens in the lower middle part of your abdomen, usually around the time of your period. Most women experience this pain for 1 to 2 days during their period. The pain is often mild, but for some women, it can be very severe. Mifco Tablet, which contains Mefenamic Acid 250 mg and Dicyclomine HCl 10 mg, is used to help relieve cramps and pain in the stomach area during menstruation.

Colicky pains : Colicky pain is a sudden, sharp, and focused type of pain that comes and goes quickly. It mostly happens when muscles in empty organs like the stomach, intestines, rectum, gallbladder, and ureter pull back, often because of something blocking or tightening those areas. Mifco Tablet, which contains Mefenamic Acid 250 mg and Dicyclomine HCl 10 mg, is used to stop sudden muscle spasms or cramps and helps reduce colicky pain

MECHANISM OF ACTION
Mefenamic Acid 250 mg is a type of medicine called a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, or NSAID. It works by blocking certain enzymes in the body called COX-1 and COX-2. These enzymes are involved in making substances called prostaglandins, which cause pain, swelling, and fever. By stopping the production of these substances, Mefenamic Acid helps reduce pain and inflammation. It is used to relieve pain from conditions like menstrual cramps, arthritis, and other illnesses that involve inflammation.
Dicyclomine HCl 10 mg is a drug that works by blocking a certain chemical in the body called acetylcholine, which helps muscles relax. It is used to ease discomfort in the stomach and intestines by reducing muscle spasms and cramping. This medicine is often prescribed for problems like irritable bowel syndrome and other stomach issues that involve muscle tightness and pain.

Drug-Drug Interactions : Mifco Tablet (Mefenamic Acid 250 mg + Dicyclomine HCl 10 mg) may interact with several medicines like painkillers such as aspirin, diuretics like furosemide, mood stabilizers such as lithium, quinidine, and phenothiazine, anti-rheumatic drugs like methotrexate, blood thinners such as warfarin, cardiac glycosides like digoxin, anti-diabetic medications including glibenclamide, gliclazide, and glimepiride, antibiotics such as gentamycin, tobramycin, amikacin, and cyclosporine, anti-platelet drugs like clopidogrel, steroids such as mifepristone, immunosuppressants like tacrolimus, anti-HIV drugs such as zidovudine, and anti-emetic medicines like metoclopramide.
